ROS (Robotic Operating System) is a software platform used to develop robotic applications. ROS is an Open Source Software package – allowing one to view and edit the source code. ROS is designed around the concept of “nodes” that communicate and work with each other that make the programming environment extremely modular. This modularity makes ROS a very adaptive system that can be configured to many types of robotic systems.
